Liver Cancer Risk Reduction

The bad news:  HBV, hepatitis B Virus is globally the #1 leading cause of liver cancer in humans.

The good news: The risk of HBV infections can be profoundly reduced through immunization with the hepatitis b vaccine.  Since a cure all for cancer is a well documented challenge, there are some cancers that fortunately can be prevented through immunization.  HPV Vaccine, Gardasil 9 and Hepatitis B Vaccine are those vaccines currently delivering the best defense against some cancers.

This video provides a brief history of hepatitis b disease & Dr. Maurice Hilleman’s extraordinary ingenuity in hepatitis B vaccine development and ultimately the protection of human life through vaccination.

The newest hepatitis B vaccine available, licensed in the United States in 2017 is Heplisav-B,  recently acquired by Sanofi.  Although Heplisav-B is no longer a brand new vaccine, in this short video by Dr. Paul Offit, one can quickly learn what is unique about this specific hepatitis B vaccine indicated for patients 18 years of age and over.

HEPLISAV-B® (Hepatitis B Vaccine (Recombinant), Adjuvanted) is available through Sanofi’s VaccineShop.comAll HEPLISAV-B vaccine orders must be placed directly through VaccineShop.com beginning July 1, 2026, to reflect our Physicians' Buying Group (PracticeWell)  contract pricing.
